Are you a homeowner in Sparks looking to transform your backyard into a beautiful, functional outdoor space? Perhaps you’ve just moved into a new home in the Kiley Ranch area, or your existing yard in older Sparks neighborhoods needs a refresh. At Grand Design Landscape, we understand the unique challenges and opportunities that come with creating stunning outdoor environments in Northern Nevada. We combine luxury outdoor living with practical Reno engineering, addressing crucial factors like water, soil, slope, fire, and freeze-thaw durability through expert landscaping and hardscaping design. This means we design and build with our specific climate in mind, from managing alkaline and low-organic soils to ensuring proper wildfire defensible-space. A successful landscaping Sparks NV project isn’t just about planting pretty flowers; it’s about smart landscape planning, durable hardscaping installation, and robust construction that stands up to our local climate, enhances your property’s value, and truly extends your living space.
We’re a family-owned business, founded by Ben and Allison Benesch, deeply familiar with what makes a Sparks yard thrive. We’re here to help you navigate everything from water-wise plant choices to custom hardscaping features like patios, retaining walls, and outdoor kitchens, while ensuring your new patio has the proper paver base and sub-base preparation to prevent settling and cracking through our harsh freeze-thaw cycles. Our goal is to create a personalized outdoor haven that you’ll love for years to come, whether it’s a cozy fire pit area for family gatherings or an expansive outdoor kitchen for entertaining friends.
Grand Design Landscape offers a full suite of services designed to meet every outdoor need for Sparks homeowners, creating cohesive, beautiful, and durable outdoor living spaces.
Your outdoor kitchen should be as functional as it is beautiful. We design and build custom outdoor kitchens engineered for Northern Nevada’s climate… accounting for wind, heat, and cold snaps that cheaper builds can’t handle.
We design and install paver patios in Reno NV that stand up to significant temperature swings. Meticulous sub-base preparation ensures no settling or cracking… Built to last for decades.
Manage challenging slopes and expand usable yard space with a
retaining wall built to last. We engineer structural solutions for Reno’s freeze-thaw cycles and alkaline soils.
Water conservation is paramount in Northern Nevada. Our xeriscape installations incorporate native plants, decorative boulders, and efficient irrigation… beautiful, low-maintenance, and TMWA-compliant.
Get a consistently green, evergreen lawn without constant watering, mowing, or fertilizing. We ensure proper base preparation and drainage for
artificial turf in Reno that looks and feels premium year-round.
Take the fun outside with a custom outdoor living space designed for Reno’s climate. Fire pits, pergolas, and outdoor kitchens… we build spaces where your family will gather for years to come.
We visit your Sparks home to listen, assess your property, and understand how you envision using your outdoor space… discussing lifestyle, preferences, and everything that makes your yard unique.
Our designers create a detailed landscape plan using 3D technology, presenting material options, plant selections, and showing exactly how every element will integrate with your Sparks home’s architecture.
Our skilled team handles everything… grading, drainage, plant placement, hardscaping, and irrigation calibration… managing every detail with the precision and high standards your Sparks property deserves.
We finish with a thorough walkthrough to confirm your complete satisfaction, then walk you through watering schedules, plant care tips, and everything you need to enjoy your new landscape confidently.
For over a decade, Grand Design Landscape has been helping homeowners across Northern Nevada create stunning outdoor spaces. Ben and Allison Benesch founded Grand Design Landscape to help Reno-area homeowners create “a piece of paradise” in their yards, serving Nevada since 2009. Our high-end design-build approach ensures that your vision is brought to life with thoughtful planning, creative landscape design, and expert hardscaping execution, all tailored to the unique high-desert environment of Sparks. We believe great outdoor design should not only look beautiful but also function seamlessly within Northern Nevada’s demanding climate. We’re proud of our 5-star Google reputation, built on a foundation of clear communication, reliable service, and beautiful results driven by intentional design and quality craftsmanship.
We recently finished up a project for a family in an older home near the Truckee River, where their backyard was constantly waterlogged after even light rain due to poor grading. Our team developed a custom drainage design, re-engineered the runoff flow, installed permeable pavers, and built a beautiful, elevated fire pit area with integrated hardscaping that now stays dry and usable year-round. They told us it finally feels like a true extension of their home. This hands-on experience, combined with our thoughtful approach to outdoor living design and understanding the specific challenges of Sparks properties, is what truly sets us apart. We don’t just install landscapes; we engineer durable outdoor living solutions.
As Marla Brounstein shared, “Ben conducted himself in the highest manner of professionalism with an ease of down-to-earth approach to make one feel relaxed. His workers are all top notch & care for the property & its surrounding environment is great.”
We are passionate about what we do, and love getting the chance to help our community. Our goal is to build relationships and give our customers the best experience possible.
Tell us what you’re looking to build or improve, and our team will reach out to discuss your project, timeline, and next steps.
